About the Course

Public Speaking For Children (ages 7 - 11) and Public Speaking For Teens (ages 12 - 16) are enriched learning experiences which will build your child's confidence and equip your child to speak confidently with clarity, charisma and precision.

Curriculum

It is the desire of every parent for their child to have world-class education. Our goal is to coach your child to become a world-class Communicator and respected Speaker. Therefore, regardless of the age group your child belongs to, the primary areas of focus and core syllabus for the 6-month course shall include:

  1. Overcoming Stage-fright and the nervousness that comes with giving a presentation

  2. Daily Habits for Confidence-Building

  3. The 3V's of Communication - Verbal (the words you say), Vocal (how you say it - volume, pitch, pace, inflection), Visual (body language, posture, facial expressions, gesture)

  4. Enriching Your Vocabulary

  5. How To Prepare Your Speech and Organise Your Thoughts

  6. Improving Presentation Skills

  7. Attaining Presentation Mastery and Speaking Convincingly

  8. Perfecting the Art of Answering Questions and Handling Objections Gracefully

  9. Developing Your Charisma

  10. International Public Speaking Etiquette

If you think that this curriculum is too rigorous, we sincerely understand why you would think so. The candid truth is that your children can handle more than you think! They just need to be challenged and this is the perfect opportunity they have been waiting for. The best time to start them on this journey is now!

Coaching Approach

Hands-on coaching is the approach we are adopting. With exciting roleplays, engaging group exercises, fun-filled tutorials and real-life presentation trials, your child will have a wholesome learning experience. Click on the relevant age group to find out more.

Public Speaking For Children (7 - 11 years old)

Storytelling Circle - Kids take turns telling a part of a story, encouraging creativity and teamwork.

Show and Tell - Each child brings an item from home and explains its significance, boosting confidence and presentation skills.

Charades - A fun way to express ideas and emotions without words, improving non-verbal communication.

Improvised Games - Simple improvisation exercises to enhance spontaneity and quick thinking.

Debates - Topics like "cats vs. dogs" where kids can share opinions and learn respectful debate techniques.

Public Speaking For Teens (12 - 16 years old)

The median age of the participants is 12.5 years old. This means that the average participant of this programme has lived for a minimum of 113,880 hours. In order for a child to have a truly transformative learning experience, that child would need more than a half-day workshop. A "quickie" of a course will never result in transformation! We are committed to the children experiencing change, skills and competence that will live with them for a lifetime. Hence, the priceless value of having a 6-month learning experience.

Samuel Jonathan

Samuel Jonathan

Samuel Jonathan is the Founder of the Royal Centre For Public Speaking. In 2012, he designed "Public Speaking For Pupils", the first certified course in public speaking for children. Weeks later, after observing the rich content of the course and transformational changes in their students, Mr Jonathan had to design an equivalent bespoke course for their teachers, and named it "Public Speaking For Today's Teacher". His signature style of coaching has been described by educators, senior public officials and corporate executives as inspiring, uplifting and transformative. In 2007, The British Army were so impressed with the concept of Samuel's youth leadership programme in London, that they sponsored it! A very short list of organisations and educational institutions who have benefitted from Samuel's coaching legacy include British International School, Johns Hopkins University, Barclays, The British Council, KPMG, Ernst & Young, University of Ghana and The United Nations. The sole reason why Samuel is conducting this course for the first time in Britain is because of his love for children. He has equipped world leaders and now he wants to empower the local child. Samuel Jonathan is DBS Certified and looks forward to raising world-class speakers, starting with your child.
